The Darling Axe is hiring an #OwnVoices editor

We are a team of freelance editors who support a range of clients, from bestselling authors to new writers who have just penned their first manuscript.

As a Darling Axe editor, you can take on as much or as little work as is available. (Current need is for 1-2 part-time editors, but we keep growing, so eventual full-time work is possible.) We have base rates, but you ultimately decide what to charge for each project based on how much work you think is required. Also, your clients are your own.

Base rates for a 100,000-word manuscript:

  • Developmental editing: $1500 USD
  • Line editing: $2200 USD
  • Proofreading: $1000 USD

We are aiming to recruit an experienced fiction editor who is open to working with most genres as well as with novice writers. In particular, though, we're hoping to find a new team member who has experience with #OwnVoices manuscripts or who is an #OwnVoices author.

If this sounds like you, please send me an email with your c/v and a bit about your editing experience.
