Resource review: #PitMad and other pitch battles

Resource review: #PitMad and other pitch battles

From PitchWars.org: "#PitMad is a pitch party on Twitter where writers tweet a 280-character pitch for their completed, polished, unpublished manuscripts. Agents and editors make requests by liking/favoriting the tweeted pitch."

#PitMad and other submission battles are a great way to catch an agent's attention as well as practice your pitching skills. This event tends to take place four times per year, so make sure you note the next #PitMad date in your calendar.

#IWSGPit is a similar event from the Insecure Writer's Support Group.

#SFFPit is a pitch battle specific to science fiction and fantasy.

#KissPitch is an event for romance and women's fiction.

#DVPit is a pitch event for self-identifying, historically marginalized authors and illustrators.

#RevPit is a slightly different take on this concept; rather than vying for an agent's attention, participants can win feedback/editing on their full manuscripts from professional editors.
